St Patrick´s Day!

 HAPPY ST. PATRICK´S DAY!

According to the legend, a leprechaun is a type of fairy that stands as tall as a 3 year old child. It is usually described as a bearded man who wears a green suit and hat.

The leprechaun is a shoemaker who spends most of his time making and fixing shoes. In fact, some people say that when a leprechaun is near, you can hear the tap-tap-tapping of his tiny hammer as he drives nails into shoes.

These little men are also said to enjoy playing tricks on those they meet.

Our students were really surprised when they arrived to school: A leprechaun was waiting for them!

For this reason, we asked them to draw and colour their own leprechaun. These are their masterpieces!

Happy St. Patrick´s Day!

Do you know that...?

1. St. Patrick´s Day is an annual feast day celebrating the patron saint of Ireland. It is a national holiday and it´s usually celebrated on March 17th.

2. People usually eat corned beef and cabbage.

3. It is believed that St Patrick drove all the snakes out of Ireland.

4. One of the Irish traditions is to pinch anyone who is not wearing green in St. Patrick´s Day.

5. The leprechaun is a small Irish fairy. He is dressed in green with pointed shoes and a hat. Leprechauns are supposed to be unfrendly little men who live alone in the forest, spending all their time making shoes and guarding their treasures.

6. If someone catches a leprechaun, he will be forced to tell where he hides all his pots of gold.

I invite you to read this amazing poem!
